Supervisor Health and Safety Training
In Ontario, Supervisor Health and Safety Training is a mandatory program designed to ensure that supervisors understand their responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). This training is required by Ontario Regulation 297/13 and must be completed within one week of starting a supervisory role.
The Training covers several Key areas:
Duties and Rights of Workers
understanding the legal responsibilities and rights of workers under the OHSA.
Recognizing Hazards
Identifying and addressing workplace hazards to ensure a safe working environment.
WHMIS
Training on the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System to handle hazardous materials safely.
Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA):
Ensuring workplaces are accessible and Inclusive.
Note: Supervisors can complete this training through various formats, including eLearning modules and workbooks provided by the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development.
